What it does
Anatomy the way a scanner sees it
Real scan data
Slices come from genuine CT and MRI volumes — not illustrations. Bone, soft tissue and air read exactly as they do on a real scan.
Scroll it slice by slice
Drag through a region millimetre by millimetre in axial, coronal or sagittal planes, with a locator that always shows where you are.
Continuous regions
Torso runs shoulders to pelvis and the leg runs thigh to toes as one uninterrupted scroll — no jumping between disconnected blocks.
Labelled structures
Toggle auto-segmented overlays to name what you are looking at — over a hundred structures across the torso, head and limbs.
See it in 3D
Lift any slice into a 3D view to understand how the plane cuts through the body, then drop back to keep scrolling.
Fully offline & private
Every scan ships inside the app. No account, no network, no analytics, no tracking — it works in aeroplane mode.

Coverage
From head to foot
Tap any region to drop into its scan. Torso and leg scroll end-to-end as one continuous volume, so you never lose the thread of where one structure becomes the next.

Where the data comes from
Built on open, real imaging
NLM Visible Human Project
Cross-sectional imagery in the public domain (via Harvard Dataverse, doi:10.7910/DVN/3JDZCT).
3D Slicer sample data
Donated CBCT volumes provided for use without restriction.
TotalSegmentator
Automated anatomical labels, released under the Apache-2.0 licence.
Sliced Body is an educational tool, not a medical device. Structure labels are auto-segmented and approximate, and nothing in the app should be used for diagnosis or medical decision-making.
